Definition

A sweet paste made from almond meal and either sugar or honey (occasionally with added almond oil or flavoring agents). Marzipan is a component of many confectioneries. Common uses include molding into decorative shapes, rolling out into thin sheets to cover cakes and pastries, and being used as a filling for chocolates.
