Rice bran wax is extracted from rice bran oil. Its high melting point makes it a substitute for carnauba wax. It is used in a variety of industries, and in food as a wax coating for fruits, vegetables, candies, and in chewing gum.

Health considerations

Rice bran wax is nontoxic and present in very small quantities when used in food.
