Definition

Maple butter is an opaque, light tan-colored creamy spread made from pure maple syrup that has been heated, cooled, and beaten, causing a specific crystallization pattern. Maple butter may have vegetable oil and salt added during the stirring process, or added cinnamon to form maple cinnamon butter. See: Maple syrup.
