Health considerations

Lindane is a possible carcinogen, though it is known for causing detrimental changes to DNA, reducing semen quality, poorly affecting the immune system and it is also a known neurotoxin. There have been reports of seizure, coma and death associated with its use.

Lindane has been banned for use as an agricultural insecticide by the Environmental Protection Agency, though the FDA has approved its use as a treatment for scabies and head lice.
