See: Turmeric. Curcumin is one of the main phytochemicals found in the spice, turmeric. This natural chemical has been used for many purposes, including medicine, insect repellent and for cooking as well.

Health considerations

Curcumin has been extensively studied for many decades. It has been shown to work as an antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-biofilm, antiviral, antifungal, anticancer, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. Though often these effects are found at dosages only produced by supplementation as opposed to strictly dietary intake.
