Tocopherols are a class of naturally-occuring chemicals that are related to vitamin E. 

Health considerations

Tocopherols have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and cholesterol-lowering properties. This class of compounds has also been associated with protection from radiation exposure, cancer preventive effects, and reduced risk of diabetes, and cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. See: Vitamin E
