Definition

Slimcado is the commercial name for Florida-grown Hardee avocados, a lower fat cultivar of avocado. Slimcados have a green skin and pale green flesh. They are sweeter than Hass avocados with a lighter flavor. See: Avocado

Health considerations

Slimcados are named for having approximately 75% of the calories and 68% of the fat of common California avocados. Slimcados have been tested and shown a lower phenol content, carotenoid content, and antioxidant capacity than Hass avocados. See: Avocado
