Definition

Iceberg lettuce is a head lettuce variety whose crisp, pale green-white leaves grow in a tight overlapping pattern, forming a small spherical head.

Health considerations

Iceberg lettuce contains some vitamin A and K, as well as small amounts of vitamin C, folate, manganese, and potassium. Like all lettuces it is low in calories. Iceberg lettuce is relatively low in antioxidants.
