Fast Green FCF is a green dye approved for use in the US, though it is the least used food dye.

Health considerations

Fast Green FCF has been studied within various animals and in cell-based studies. Animal studies at relatively high doses have associated it with various cancers, disruptions to bone marrow function and changes in composition of the blood. Cell-based studies have seen an ability to cause changes to chromosomes (DNA) and to interfere with function of neurons in the brain.

Fast Green FCF is prohibited from use in food in the EU.
