Definition

Dried apricots are a flat, light to dark orange dried fruit. Sulfur dioxide-treated dried apricots (sulphured) are light orange and softer than their unsulphured counterparts, which ave a dark colour. See: Apricot

Health considerations

Dried apricots are a source of iron, potassium, and vitamin A. Dried apricots are a relatively concentrated source of sugar. See: Apricot

Keep in mind

Individuals sensitive to sulfur should avoid light-coloured dried apricots. Generally the lighter the colour, the more sulfur dioxide has been used.
