Ascaricides are drugs or naturally occurring compounds used to treat ascariasis, or infection with parasitic roundworms. They are used to treat livestock.
Individual ascaricides have unique health effects. Residue levels may vary.
Ascariasis in livestock is generally caused by a different roundworm species than that which causes ascariasis in humans. The swine ascaris has caused severe human health effects when it was intentionally used to infect humans.
